Yesterday we visited The Hague to see an exhibition on Dutch illustrators. It was a very inspiring day I can assure you! I loved seeing the history of Dutch illustrations, and discovered a whole lot of artists from the previous century I didn’t know about. Just some of these discoveries? Johanna Bottema, El Pintor (Jaap Kloots and Galinka Ehrenfest) and Jenny Dalenoord. My favorite turned out to be Carl Hollander who illustrated (amongst many other things) Pippi Longstocking. It’s also his work you see on the flyer. His use of color, his ‘loose’ style, I love it!
If you haven’t been yet, I suggest you go and get yourself inspired!
